Jens Fischer, Sales and Marketing Manager, Privatmolkerei Bauer


Bauer Milch is a nationwide German manufacturer of milk products with its headquarters in Wasserburg am Inn in Upper Bavaria. The company, now in its fifth generation, is led by Markus Bauer and Florian Bauer.


1. The dairy Privatmolkerei J. Bauer is celebrating its birthday. Your company is 125 years old year in 2012. How are you celebrating this anniversary?

Ever since it was founded as a family enterprise in 1887, our dairy has had its feet firmly on the ground. We are aware that we mainly owe our success to the highly committed people we employ, so we are going to celebrate our 125th anniversary in big style and with our entire workforce. Another highlight of our anniversary festivities will be an Open Day on 21 July 2012 when our company will welcome everyone who is interested: neighbours, friends, family and anyone who would like to come will be warmly invited to have a close look at the manufacturing of milk and to find out everything they want to know about our 125-year history.

2. How will this impact InterMopro?

This year’s trade fair highlight at InterMopro in Düsseldorf will be a presentation of Bauer in the Brand Village, right at the centre of the exhibition. We will be presenting new products and also the traditional items which have been so popular, both with the retail trade and with the consumer. These include "Der kleine Bauer" (The Little Farmer), two Bauer children’s products called Diplomat and Knirps (Little Squirt) as well as various cheese specialities and also Cheestrings and Mövenpick premium products.

3. You created your own yoghurt for the European Championship. What kind of innovations can we expect at InterMopro?

As before, Bauer will be represented with new products at this year’s InterMopro. However, we must ask for your understanding that we don’t want to present these products in the run-up to the trade fair. We will be happy to welcome you in the Brand Village and present our new products to you in person.
